September 2009
We asked for your help and you responded to the call.
Here are some previous myths about Norfolk that you alerted us to...and then helped to dispel!
Wonderful Wind Turbines
I think it's absolutely wonderful that a whole county has embraced wind power. It really takes Norfolk into a different league. The turbine shots chosen are beautiful and dispell yet another Myth.
Well done on such an excellent marketing campaign.
I only wish my own council would do the same.

Just found out about this site
Having recently seen the advert and only registered on this site a few moments ago, I feel obliged to add a quick post to applaud the local authorities for, what I’m sure will turn out to be a successful campaign. Norfolk is full of interesting people and even more interesting businesses.
Moving to Norfolk
So we have decided that we're moving to Nofolk. Not sure where and not sure when but we're pretty sure we're coming.
So World Class Norfolk where's best for music, the arts, the water, the perfect pub, the perfect village...market town...life
Not asking much am I but surely all this is NFN. in all seriousenss It would be great to get some real local perspective
We are scouting again this weekend and twiitering @veryflat
It takes years to be accepted if you're new to Norfolk
I've met dozens of newcomers to Norfolk who appear to collectively hold this view. So is there any truth in it, or is it an example of how easy it can be to view things from one perspective only.
Here's what I think:
Some people base their entire view or belief about a situation on a single piece of evidence. They then apply their thinking as a general rule. For example: I didn't hit it off with them, therefore I expect I'll find it hard to get on with anyone here.
This site
This site/campaign is great and so long overdue, but it is very hard to find. Hardly any of the press reports give the website address and it is too soon for it to be picked up by the search engines. I think you need to promote the website more
I live and work in London, but try to spend as much time in Norfolk, mostly Norwich. My overwhelming impression is that Norfolk people are normally very honest and genuine and reliable. They are true to their word.
Who says Norfolk is remote?
I'm always amused when people say we're out on a limb. From my Wymondham base I can be on the Central Line in 90 mins, checking in at Stansted in 70 mins and on the beach in less than an hour. You wouldn't manage that from Watford!

'People in Norfolk are Different'
I'd like a pound for every time I've heard someone say this.
The truth is that people everywhere are different - it's part of what makes us unique as a species - and yes, maybe Norfolk people are different, but not in the way you might expect.
Norfolk people are grounded - they tell you what they think, what they really think, not what they think others want to hear.

Norfolk's most famous feature?
Great to see that Lesson 10 features the webbed digits that all denizens of Norfolk are famous for ;)
Who wouldn't want to stay here?
Over the years, so many friends and colleagues who have initially moved to Norwich to study - either at the University or the Art College have grown so attached to the county that they never wanted to move elsewhere.
It's a great place to work and at the weekend it's easy to relax and unwind with the fantastic countryside and beaches on the doorstep.
I certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
