Colin Self, leading British pop artist famed for his work themed around the Cold War, was born in Rackheath just outside Norwich. A leading figure in the re-emergence of printmaking in the 1960s Self’s distinctive drawing style led fellow artist Richard Hamilton to describe him as ‘the best draughtsman in England since William Blake’.
