Case Study - BeWILDerwood

BeWILDerwood has arisen from a swamp to become one of the ‘50 most wonderful places in the world’.
Nestled in the heart of The Broads, BeWILDerwood is a family adventure park like no other, where children can immerse themselves in a magical world inspired by the books of author and BeWILDerwood creator Tom Blofeld.
BeWILDerwood started as an idea by two friends. Tom Blofeld, a landowner and Simon Egan a former sculptor and trusted friend to Tom. Faced with the prospect of a declining farm income and some beautiful but unused woods, the two conceived a plan to build a treehouse adventure park.
Creating a world class brand is never a fluke. It takes a talented and collaborative team, an amazing attention to detail and time. Time to do things right and time to learn what works best in the real world of a 1,000 plus children a day swinging and whooping in your woods.
Why BeWILDerwood
- 2010 saw approximately 160,000 visitors to the park
- BeWILDerwood was selected by The Observer as being “one of the fifty most fabulous things to do in the world”!
- 2009 saw BeWILDerwood pick up the theme park industry’s equivalent of an Oscar by being awarded the internationally acclaimed THEA – by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). 2009 winners also include Disney and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony.
