Norfolk: Great place for a business

Created 165 days 14 hours 18 min ago by kiltedhugh

I have lived here for 20 years and as a Scotsman I for sure can call Norfolk home. I recently finished an assignment in Scotland and flew home as I saw it every Friday. I have joined with a business partner from Norwich to set up an online business advice facility to help the SME community based on years in the Corporate world. I sincerely hope to base myself in Norfolk ad infinitum  , as this is just a great place to live and work  , and especially for the family. I agree with other bloggers that Norfolk will become a sought after place for business to base themselves.

Norfolk- Ideal for 'remote' working

Created 237 days 14 hours 23 min ago by Anglichanin

I'm lucky enough to work via the internet and to choose where I live, so would love to live in Norfolk. As more and more people work 'remotely' surely Norfolk will become one of the places most sought after by these 'remote' members of the workforce?

I studied at UEA and fell in love with Norfolk, and can't afford to move back yet because of the property market, but I definitely hope to 'bring my job to Norfolk' some time in future!

George Borrow.

Is George Borrow responsible for the ridicule that others have brought unto Norwich? Was he the original that started all the jokes?  ;-)

Wind, solar and hydro power should be the future - none of this nuclear power. I live in a block of coucil flats in Great Yarmouth and we have a nice communal area which would be perfect for a large wind turbine. Also we could have solar panel on top of our block. :-)

When I first came to Norfolk

When I first came to Norfolk in the mid 90s, the TEC asked me to work with them as I was already qualified in several supporting areas. I was asked how I was going to deal with the Norfolk culture. "I laughed and said, "Which one of seven?" Today, I'd say, "Which one of twenty seven?"

There is a laid back culture which epitomises the best of English history. There is also the questionning of all that is new is not better. That is healthy.
