Figures from the Economic Impact of Tourism in Norfolk survey estimates that in 2011 there were more than 31 million day trips to the county and 14.5 million staying nights from 3.4 million staying trips.
Visitor businesses and the visitor market contributed £2.79 billion to Norfolk’s economy in 2011.
Norfolk’s business visitor experience, which represents over 30% of all visitor income, is an exciting area of opportunity where even more conference facilities and business accommodation are required as the business visitor sector grows.
It is estimated that the visitor economy supports more than 54,000 jobs in the county, of which 27,000 are full-time. The visitor economy accounts for 15.3% of all employment in Norfolk.
